ATR Scorekeeper Position Description

Overview

Score keeping is a great volunteer opportunity for any individual, especially those who may have limited experience with the game of basketball. There is little to no physical activity involved, and our staff will be able to train you and walk you through the process on site. Qualifications and Expectations 

• Has a desire to serve children and their families. 

• Able to fulfill the necessary time commitment. 

  • Typical shifts involve three games back to back on a Saturday, with each game lasting approximately one hour in duration. 

  • An availability of 4 out of the 8 game days is needed, but more than 4 weeks of commitment is welcomed. 

  • Season Dates 2022 TBD

• Must operate the score clock in accordance with the rules for the age division assigned. 

• Keep track of a running score, fouls, and timeouts on the score sheet when necessary. 

• Limit any distractions, including conversations with others at the score table, to maintain focus during live play. 

  • Any cell phone use is prohibited during live play unless there is an emergency. Phones may be used between periods and once a game has ended.
